The indecision around publishing this post is quite ironic really.

Now I am sure many of you can relate to the indecisiveness of what to order at a restaurant, or what film to watch. I get this too, you are not alone, however if I think ‘Ooh I might watch a film tonight’ I end up being so indecisive that I spend more time choosing something to watch and then end up not watching any.

Indecision is the absolute bane of my life. It makes it pretty much impossible to get a definite answer for anything and I am almost 100% certain it disrupts everyone else as well. Often, my indecisiveness causes me to spend money on things I don’t need, like lipsticks (I have confessed, I am an addict). I will see a new collection, I will like a few lipsticks from it but I won’t be able to pick just one, nooo no no, I need all three (a-la MAC’s Wash and Dry collection).

Or I can’t choose between a starter and dessert so I just get both and then instantly regret every food choice I made. I end up spending forever to decide to do something, and if I do actually make a decision, I’ll pretty much regret it straight away and wonder ‘what if…’ or ‘I should have picked x, y or z’.

I weigh up the pros and cons of everything but then still don’t reach a decision. I ask for peoples’ advice on decisions about 62382 times before choosing one. I tried to result to flipping a coin to make my decision, but would always pick the other option. It’s like I am trying to be at war with myself. My mind’s telling me no, but my body, my body’s telling me yes – name that tune, but literally, that is my life.

Indecision is a decision is the first thing that comes up when I type ‘indecision is’ into Google. Yes, it is a decision I guess, but a very unconscious decision, if that makes sense. My decision or the result of the decision is not to be indecisive; it is just a flaw in my brain I guess.

I think the only positive to being so indecisive is the fact that I rationalise everything, but this hinders me also. It’s like everything has to have an equal amount of positives and negatives. It is so aggravating being so indecisive.

I guess my indecisiveness sort of stems from the fact that I over-think everything, they must be linked somehow, and it would make quite a bit of sense. I don’t really know what the point of this post is but if anyone reads it and happens to have any tips on how to be less indecisive (if that is even possible) I would really appreciate it.

An Unintentionally Summery Haul

Yet again, I am disgusted with myself in the sense that I have been M.I.A on my blog recently. I have a new job and away in Torquay training for six weeks, which means my brain hurts lots, and when I get back from training all I want to do is get dinner then go to bed. Currently back for the weekend which means blogging time, wahoo!

I'm just going to do a little bit of a mini favourites/haul as I have accumulated a few things that I love over the last month or so that I feel I must share with you all.

Now this first thing was a gift from my two best pals when I left Tesco, and I am absolutely in love with it! It's full of photos of us (and LB - the best puppy ever) and others in this beautiful multi-frame frame. I believe this is from Next, where they do the most lovely home d├ęcor, I would very much like to own everything they sell I think.

Sticking with a Next theme, I popped in last week and picked up this little bag. Now it is described as a make-up bag, but it is far too small to fit my whole face in! It's in a sort of neoprene fabric, with a large sturdy plastic zip, which makes me think that this is the perfect little bag for heading down to the beach and using as a little handy holiday bag. It's just the right size for some money, phone, a few items of make up, all the essentials! It has two sides to the fabric, one is pure white with 'BE HAPPY' etched onto the front in 3D text which I LOVE because it makes it even more into a holiday bag, as lets face it, what makes you happier than a holiday?! The other side is striped with a perfect pink colour. I believe this was between £10-£12, bargain!

I picked this next item up on the same day from Accessorize for about £8. I adore this phone case so much (apart from when the sun shines on the gold and glares me in the eyes). It's by a company called Skinny Dip who do the best phone/tablet cases ever. You can find them on ASOS as well but there's a Donut iPhone case with GOOGLY eyes that I need so bad! Anyway this is super cute with little gold pineapples all over it and it goes well with my gold iPhone!

Next up is my new favourite shampoo, I Love Juicy by Lush Cosmetics. I have really wanted to try and get into using more natural shampoo's and conditioners on my hair as I know a lot of the high street and supermarket stock have chemicals in that make your hair look great on the outside, but it's just for show and isn't great for your hair. I Love Juicy is super hydrating for your hair, giving it a deep cleanse. With ingredients such as pineapple, kiwi, mango and papaya, it smells amazing and the enzymes within these fruits contains oils that are great for the scalp and hair. The next one I want to try is Honey I Washed My Hair, the shampoo bar!

Sticking with hair care, my next product is a repurchase that I just need to tell you guys about as I think it will change your lives like it did mine. Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Beauty Balm was my absolute hair saviour. When I first used this products I had very long, split ended hair. Using this product after every time I washed my hair, then drying it, left my hair feeling and looking so much healthier! I don't really know much about this product but it's brilliant! Also very good for when you go on holiday after you wash your hair as it rehydrates the ends and leaves it less frizzy and damaged.

Now, who still buys those amazing sweets called Fruit Salad's? I think they are by Barratt's? They are probably my favourite sweetie ever. They were always at some sort of tuck shop and you'd always have that one friend that preferred a Blackjack (weirdo). Anyway, still completely on topic, Imperial Leather have created a line of 'Classic Flavours' in their shower creams and they are good enough to eat! I picked up Mouth-Watering Fruit Salad and Comforting Marshmallow, however I did also spot a Sherbet Lemon one and a Spearmint one also. They're currently only 85p in Tesco, so go have a sniff and tell me which is your favourite!

Last but by no means least is my newest addition to my ever growing MAC Lipstick collection. This time, I picked up Vegas Volt and ohhhhh lordy, it is beautiful. With an amplified finish, it's super bright and stays on all day and all night! I team it with MAC's lip pencil in 'Lasting Sensation' to make sure it stays on all day (which is always does anyway). Where I have quite rosy lips anyway, it comes out pretty orangey/coral/more orangey on my lips and it's making me want to go more daring for the Summer!

This turned pretty Summery but hope you enjoyed it either way and as you can probably tell, I'm ready for the sun!

MAC Attack - My Top 13 MAC Lipsticks!

Hello there! I'm probably a stranger to you now, so I'll reintroduce myself; I'm Philippa! I have no idea where I have been but it has been nowhere near my blog, and I have neglected it to no end which makes me sad, not to mention the amount of #chats I have missed on Twitter...eeek!

So I'm coming back with a vengeance with a few of my favourite MAC Cosmetics lipsticks! Now my pals think that it is a bit of a disgrace how much my lipstick collection is worth when you add the amount that they cost together (I'm verging on the 30 mark and I have no shame)!

I have picked my favourite thirteen to share with you. I know thirteen is a weird amount but I could not limit it down any further, it was hard enough choosing 13! Hopefully you will enjoy this post and maybe you will maybe find your new favourite from my favourites!

Up The Amp
I got this lipstick in Duty Free when I was on my way to Egypt last year and I wore it every night of our trip! It's quite daring in the bullet and on the skin as you can see, but where I have quite dark lips anyway, it came out slightly darker and looked absolutely fabulous!

I have no words for this lipstick. It's long-lasting, not drying at all and is brilliantly pigmented. I usually go for this lip colour if I'm going to a rock gig (a la Steel Panther if you are following me on instagram) or feeling a bit more sexy and confident!

Show Orchid
One word to describe this lipstick...POW! Right in your face, the brightest pinkest lipstick ever. Such a Barbie pink and it is a perfect Summer shade. It is the most fantastic blue-hued pink lip that I think would suit everyone. MAC are very good at creating perfect lips for all, high five!

Toying Around
This was from MAC's Playland Collection. Probably my favourite collection that MAC have done so far, I also have Happy-Go-Lucky and Red Balloon from it and they are absolutely gorgeous also. This is my only coral/orange shaded lipstick and I loooove it so much! It is almost neon when on the lips and it lasts forever without being matte or drying. This is the perfect Summer lip colour and I will be wearing this 24/7 come the sunny weather no doubt!

Syrup was my first ever lipstick I bought from MAC. I wanted an everyday colour that I could wear to work and I'd get my money's worth from also. I definitely got this from Syrup as I use it non-stop. I actually thought I'd lost this lipstick before this post and I am soo happy I found it, not that there was much left in the bullet!

Pure Heroine
I believe this was the Lorde version of 'Heroine', with it being quite a lot darker than the original. I prefer this version than the other, plus where I have 'Up The Amp' if I layer it with the right lip pencil I can achieve the same sort of finish as Heroine. Anyway! This is similar to Rebel for me in the sense that I wear it on a certain occasion and when I have it on I feel one sassy lady!

Speed Dial
Speed Dial, ahh my favourite cute pink. It is the perfect pastel-y pink, and is usually my go-to lipstick for work. I never thought this would work well on my lips because they are so naturally dark but the pigmentation is great, plus it has definitely got little bits of golden shimmer in there too, no-one can resist a little bit of sparkle!

Now this was my most random buy. I have a list on my notes on my iPhone of all the MAC lipsticks I've spotted and need to buy (does anyone else do this?! I can't be alone in doing this!) and this one was not on the list. I was on the hunt for Velvet Teddy or Brave because I wanted to try out the Kylie Jenner lip. The lady in House of Fraser was so helpful and despite being sold out of both of those lipsticks, she suggested Yash, which is a matte finish and lasts forever and ever! I wore this to the #nyldnmeet in January and it lasted hours before I needed to top it up. I usually wear this with a MAC lip pencil in Beurre or Nice n Spicy.

Riri Woo
I got on the Rihanna lipstick bandwagon (even though the one I really wanted was the Rihanna Hearts MAC Nude shade) not just because I liked the shiny gold packaging, but because I was after a blue-toned red lipstick. When I first got this I really didn't think I'd like it, but after a few swatches on different days (good days, bad days, girls you hear me) I loved it. You need to be super super careful applying this though, because one bad move and BAM. That is not coming off your face.

Pink Poodle
Pink Poodle is one of the lipsticks that MAC brought back in their By Request collection. This is where MAC asked their customers to decide which lipsticks and eyeshadows to bring back. It has a cool undertone, with slight specks of glitter and a blue hue. It's very hard to describe the colour of it, but it's quite bright but without being too bright? If you manage to see it in person (or google it) you'll see what I mean. Very similar to Show Orchid but Pink Poodle is slightly more muted.

Viva Glam Miley
My most recent lipstick to the collection and this is simply gorgeous! Not only does money from the selling of this lipstick go to a fantastic charitable cause, the colour, finish and texture of this lipstick are brilliant. Instantly fell in love! Plus the lipglass is so so glittery and beautiful too.

This is now my go-to every day (non-workplace) lipstick. It's plummy, but not too plummy if that makes sense? I'd say this was the best lipstick to try if you want to try something darker and you don't want to go straight into a lipstick like Rebel or Diva.

This limited edition Rocky Horror Picture Show lippie I could not resist, and I'm so glad I didn't! The colour of this is absolutely stunning on the lip. It's a proper blood red colour and, even though it is matte, it applies like a dream!

Can you tell I'm a sucker for anything Limited Edition?! Haha, I hope you enjoyed reading this post, are any of these your favourites too? Which ones should I check out next and add to my list?

Stella & Dot

Stella & Dot is a accessory brand I have heard a lot about over the past few months. It's a brand with an executive team involving former Banana Republic and Kate Spade teams, so that's enough to tell you it's good! At the fabulous #nyLDNmeet, I managed to have a browse of the Stella & Dot pieces that Vix Meldrew brought with her. Stella & Dot is a very unique company in the fact that you can become a stylist and set up trunk shows, to show the jewellery to others, make sales and help style pieces. It's very relaxed in the sense you don't have to hit targets but it can earn you a great income if you want to.

So obviously I ordered a few pieces from the collection at the trunk show at the event. They arrived perfectly packaged and inside was a cute little thank you note from Stella & Dot, such a lovely token that you don't tend to get much of any more. The packaging of the accessories themselves were adorned in beautiful bright patterns that I loved. I adore the care that has gone into every aspect of the product, along with a care guide also.

Trunk shows are where the Stylist can bring along pieces of the collection for people to browse, as well as try on. It's a great idea that you can actually preview pieces on yourself before you buy them. The designs are both simple and extravagant, depending on what you are after. Some of the necklaces are absolutely gorgeous, beautiful statement pieces as well as delicate designs.

Gilded Arrow Bracelet in Silver

Pave Triangle Cuff in Rose Gold

Moraley Flower Stackable Rings

Colourblock Cuff in Blush

Deja-Vu Double-Sided Studs in Silver

Thanks to this and these beautiful pieces I want to share with pretty much everyone I know, I have become a Stella & Dot Stylist! If any of these pieces have caught your eye, or if you would like me to come and host a trunk show, please feel free to contact me on here, or on my e-mail in my 'About Me', as I would love to get you as excited as me by these beautiful pieces!

I also have a website where you can browse and order on as well, which is: http://www.stelladot.co.uk/sites/philippasmith.

What are your favourite pieces you have seen?

A Single Girls' Thoughts on Valentines Day.

Okay, so I can't help the fact that I look like a potato and need to lose weight, but shoving the fact that I most definitely have no-one to buy me that huge novelty teddy bear or that yummy looking box of Guylian Caramels is not fair.

Working in retail means that Valentines Day has been launched since the middle of January. As soon as Christmas was out of the way, we were taking away Christmas cards, and throwing out Valentines Day cards. Listening to 'romantic' music when I walk into the shop every day makes me need to go home sick with Valentines vomming.

It's just another way for retailers to make money out of something that is not really worth it. If you have a significant other in your life, you shouldn't be waiting for this day to buy them a 'random' special present. Be more spontaneous. Do it on a day which has no relevance as it will make so much more of an impact!

If I was in a relationship I definitely would not want any of the mushy lovey-dovey stuff. Definitely wouldn't want to be treated to some fancy food in a fancy restaurant and then smothered with gifts. Not down my street at all....end sarcasm!

In all honesty, as much as it would be lovely to have a nice guy to snuggle up to, I like being single. It saves me money! I can spend more time with my girlfriends laughing at failing attempts of guys in the bars trying to 'charm' girls!

This picture however does sum up what I'll probably be doing this year, haha!

What are you getting up to this VDay?

Premium quality sport nutrition for every conceivable goal.

At the #nyLDNmeet last Saturday, there were lots of goodies to browse through from loads of different companies, from skincare related to food related, there was something for everyone!

Right near the end of the event, I bumped into Jenny Watt, the Trading and Marketing Manager for Myprotein. I was super excited because my house mate kind of got me into the whole active healthy lifestyle, and bumping into Jenny meant I could get some tips also.

Being the clumsy person I am, I left my Myprotein goodie bag on the train, but Jenny was kind enough to pop one in the post for me, and I couldn't be more grateful. The thing I knew I was going to miss the most was the recipe book, as it had some mouth-wateringly yummy recipes in there, and after popping onto the website, you can find extra ones on there also!

The ones I am gagging to try out is the Choc Banana Overnight Oats and the BBQ Avocado Fingers (as they also keep for 2-3 days, super healthy lunch boxing, hurrah)! I was meant to try one out today, but I have ran out of time and now have to pop into work for the evening, but when I try those two above I will be sure to share the results and the yum-level of them! :-P Both of those are recipes of the website but these caught my eye in the physical book so keep an eye on my blog for when I try these out!

The other things we got in the goodie bag were 4 sachets to try and the cutest shaker! Now, obviously the first sachet I went to try was the White Chocolate Impact Whey Protein. Now, in the past, I have watched my house mate want to hold her nose drinking other branded protein shake products but OH MY GOD. This taste absolutely amazing! So super yummy, I made mine with milk but you can also make it just with water but I can imagine it is just as tasty. Who knew looking good could be so delicious?! I really want to try the Rhubarb and Custard flavour as it is my ultimate taste combination, haha!

There are more types of powders in the range than I thought as well. You've got the standard Impact Whey Protein which is great for your protein intake as well as pre or post-workout. The 20g of protein per serving helps to grow and maintain muscle mass.

There is also a Impact Diet Protein, which also contains a high level of protein, but is added with the Instant Oats, which contains low GI carbs. This insures sustained energy releases and blood cholesterol levels are maintained. It can be used as a meal replacement or as a post-workout drink and mainly for if you are taking part in physical exercise and want to cut out unnecessary calories or fat in the diet. It helps reduce body fat levels but maintain the muscle mass to keep your body in shape!

There are also shakes that can give you extra vitamins from super foods that are great if you don't get all your fruit and veg in everyday, and there are so many more than you can browse online, with different sections from what you desire from it, whether it's weight-loss, weight-gain or just to increase protein intake, there's something for everyone.

I've just realised how LONG this post is but I could talk about it all day! The other section on the website that I love is The Zone, where you can find recipes and fitness inspiration written by teams at Myprotein but also by actual customers, which I love. They've got all the 30 Day Challenges on there, as well as a 7 Day Workout for at home, which I will definitely be taking part in! I'd highly recommend it if you want to get into shape but not have to fork out for a gym membership!

Have you ever tried Myprotein? I'm already in love after one shake!

January Favourites

Welcome! I’m so so sorry I haven’t posted in forever! I’ve been the busiest little bee in the entire world! Now I’m just going to jump right in and post my first ever favourites! I’m super excited to write this post, and I’m sure I’m a little late but I wanted to tell you all about my favourite things from the month of January!

NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette

Now I feel this has been blogged and blogged about, which is why I didn’t want to write a review when I got it, plus all the reviews I have read seem to say the same thing about it, the fact that it is brilliant!

This was my first NARS product purchase and it has definitely convinced me to buy more. The pigmentation on these cheek products is excellent, in the fact that it doesn’t come out too heavy, but doesn’t come out too light. It was brilliant value for money, with it retailing at £45 and general NARS cheek products ranging from about £22-£28 you get an absolute steal.

I did get this before Christmas but I have not stopped using it since I’ve got it! The Laguna bronzer is a product I had been lusting after for a very long time, and for good reason as it is the perfect shade. I think my favourite blush of the palette has to be Final Cut. The limited-edition coral blush is absolutely lovely on the skin and I know I will definitely be using it in moderation so I (hopefully) never run out. I have to say I haven’t really used Miss Liberty, the highlight shade due to the level of glitter. I did use in on New Years’ Eve and it did look great but it is definitely an evening wear, rather than during the day.

MAC Lipstick in Yash & Lip Pencil in Nice ‘N Spicy

This is now my go-to lip combination. I must say I got these nearer the end of January but have not worn a different look ever since! I am usually a pink or red lip colour picker but I popped into the Mac department in my local House of Fraser, I picked out the Nice ‘N Spicy Lip Pencil first, and a lovely Mac lady came along and picked out Yash to go with it and I never ever thought this nude would work on my lips.

I naturally have quite dark lips, and I thought it would look awful to mute them out with a nude, and I was surprised Yash actually covered them. It’s a lustre finish to it comes out really smoothly and covered my lips brilliantly.

I use the lip pencil to outline my lips a little over the natural line and pop the lipstick over the top and it did last longer on my lips than I thought it would. I wore this combination to the #nyLDNmeet blogger meet-up and only had to top it up twice on the whole day!

Killer Queen by Katy Perry

Now as you may or may not know, Katy Perry is my QUEEN! I love her style, personality and if I could swap who I was for the day, it would definitely be her. I bought this HUGE 100ml bottle in Duty-Free for an absolute bargain (I can’t remember exactly how much but I think it was around the £20-30 mark). The scent of this perfume is beautiful, definitely smells a lot more like a high-end perfume, rather than a celebrity one. I usually find celebrity perfumes to be either sickly sweet, really spicy or just scented like a vanilla candle.

Mac In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara

This is my new go-to mascara, as you can see by my lash before and after picture, it completely reinvents them! The carbon black pigment makes them extra black and thick. It gives just the right amount of length as well as volume without the clump. I have always had a great experience with MAC mascara, as I previously owned the False Lashes and Extended Play which are both also brilliant mascaras and they all completely top any other mascara I have used. I would highly recommend MAC mascaras to anyone, whether you are looking for length or volume, there is something in there.

So after buying my mum some beautiful Pandora beads over the past few months, I decided to dig out my Trollbeads bracelet. It's a very similar concept, and they were both founded in Copenhagen (Trollbeads was started in 1976, Pandora founded in 1982), however all of the beads of Trollbeads are completely handmade, which makes every bead unique.

I am so glad I dug out the bracelet as I forgot how sweet it was. I bought a new bead this month, which is the starfish, and have ticked off all the beads in brochure I want to purchase, or be gifted as they make perfect birthday or Christmas presents!

I'd love to read your January Favourites, link yours below!

The British Tag

Great British Bake Off. The Beatles. Countryside. A few of my favourite British things! I felt it only appropriate to do this tag, you know, being British and all. So pop your feet up, grab a cuppa and enjoy!

How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars?
Tea is great, I just want to say that now. On a normal day I will probably have 5 or 6 cups I think. I'll have one sugar (or sweetener if its available) and green milk!

Favourite part of the roast?
This is the toughest question ever! I love parsnips and roast potatoes and I am salivating at the thought! I think I will have to go with the yorkshire pudding being my favourite bit. I have it with all meats but grab a bit of yorkie pud with a bit of beef and slathered in gravy, it's the most brilliant taste sentation!

Favourite dunking biscuit?
It has got to be chocolate caramel digestive! Best biscuit hands down let alone just for dunking, yum!

Favourite quintessentially British pastime?
I must say, I love a good ramble. To save you googling if you do not know what this term is, rambling is basically just walking! I love a good walk through the countryside, especially when I'm home on the Isle of Wight because it is the most beautiful place!

Favourite British word?
Too many! But off the top of my head, I love the word gander! Or knackered!

Cockney rhyming slang?
Two and eight is my favourite as it reminds me of my nan and grandad.  It means state, like dont get yourself in a state/don't get into a two and eight!

Favourite British sweet?
Rhubarb and custards, hands down best sweet ever! Delicious! If you're British and never had one of these tasty boiled sweets, go down to Tesco and get a bag asap!

What would your pub be called?
I think I'd call it The Cats Pyjamas. I'd do all-day breakfasts haha!

No 1 British Person?
Michael Caine! You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off! Or David Jason. Or Ian McKellen! Can't choose, I'm too indecisive!

Favourite shop/restaurant?
I love good old pub grub, there's a place on the Isle of Wight called The Wight Mouse and I always make sure we go when I'm back home. If you want a chain, I'd probably say Nando's or Harvester. For shops, probably Boots or Debenhams (did you know Debenhams only sell British designers stuff, clothes wise?)

What's the first British song that comes into your head?
Can't Buy Me Love by The Beatles. The best band to come out of the UK, ever.

Marmite - love or hate?
Hate, hate, hate! The smells is enough to put me off, blergh!

After reading and watching news story after news story about the horrific attack in Paris, I wanted to write a little post.

Firstly, my most sincere condolences to all the families and friends of this victims in the attack. I cannot even begin to fathom what you are feeling. But just so you know, I feel proud of them for their free speech,  and how they have encouraged other's to speak freely also, without living in fear from those who organised this crime.

It's amazing to see the support, love and general humanity of the French,  British, and around the world after this. Coming together to tell these people that you have just brought us all closer together. We are united in our causes and emotions about this event.
I think one of my biggest angers about this attack is that it was an attack on freedom of speech. I read an article on the BBC News app and one of the comments that was published was this:

'...Fraternity,  Equality and most of all, Liberty. Where freedom of speech is an alien concept there can only be tyranny. ' - Meryl Cumins.

I just find it disgusting that in 2015, our freedom of speech is being attacked, still!

'...Freedom of speech means what it says. It includes the right to be scurrilous and silly but it must remain...' - Roger Collinge.

I think where freedom of speech is involved, this is still an issue not just amongst this attack, this has just brought to light how ridiculously unnecessary this disaster was and the reaction from our countries should show that we are not afraid. Our freedom of speech is still here and here to stay. I think some people should take note of this event and look at themselves. If this happened every time someone spoke of how they felt, the world would be a tougher place.

Also, just a little add, I love that the retaliation of the French (from what I have seen) is peaceful but gives the strongest message. They have just come together as a huge community and given a message that I don't think will go unnoticed.

2015 - The year of yes...and no?!

It may be the year of the sheep in the Chinese zodiac, but for me it is also the year of yes (and a teeny tiny bit of no).

It seems like the 'new year, new me' motto is a bit overdone nowadays, so I've got a better one; 'new year, better me'. Why would you want to be completely new?! I wouldn't.

Better yourself. Do something you have never done before but have always wanted to, or shock someone by being a better version of yourself, maybe lend a hand more at work if you can, and get a thanks out of someone. A thank you is a brilliant booster, the person you have helped is grateful and that will make you feel brilliant and full of self-worth!

We do this exercise at work where we get feedback off of our colleagues and then relay it back to the relevant person. Maybe get some friends or work mates to do this for you and make your aim for the year to turn around any weaknesses that people may thing you have.

The year of yes part is that I want to say yes to more things outside of work. I'm a teeny tiny bit of a workaholic but I want to get out more! Go to more blogger events, days out, dates even, who knows!

The few things I want to say no to are work related. Less doing favours for others and concentrate on my department. Also, less working 6 days a week, take both my days off to make some me time!

Is there anything you want to better yourself with this year?

The stages of a hangover

So, you're on top form, dancing on form, a delicious cocktail in hand, making subtle eye contact with the beautiful man across the bar, and you never want to leave home, but it has to happen. You go to bed, and it's wake up time...

Now this can happen different ways. Sometimes you can wake up feeling fresh as a daisy, and the hangover doesn't hit until later in the day (these are the worst, the delayed hangover). Most of the time you will wake up feeling awful. Step one, do not move your head, and do not sit up, whatever you do. It will feel like your brain is going to pop out of your skull. The best thing to do at this stage is to just grab your phone and see what embarrassing photos were taken or texts were sent. You feel bad, so surely you can't feel any worse is my mantra when looking at my phone.

Depending on whether you are at home alone, or with some pals, it is time for the mcdonalds run. Yes, you may have only devoured a kebab and cheesy chips about 5 hours ago but I promise you, nothing tastes better than a double cheeseburger and chicken nuggets on the morning of a hangover.

Let's just quickly step back to the delayed hangover. You'll be feeling great, just hunky dory! Wait until the 3pm dip, you won't know what hit you (well, you will, it's your delayed hangover). You'll be going about your usually business then BAM! It all goes down hill.

So Mcdonalds run, this is when you wish McDelivery was a thing (come on they've got to do this soon!), cause you may have to go get the food. Anyway, when the food is home, this will be eaten either on the sofa or if it is that bleak, back in bed. Usually by this point, you may have to check facebook to make sure you haven't been tagged in any monstrosities.

After these few hours of being awake, it's time for a nap. I say a nap, I mean a good 5 hour sleep. By the time you wake up, it's time for another meal, so hello Dominoes! Does anyone else's stomach seem to expand enormously when they're hungover?!

So, for the delayed hangover, it is now 3pm. It's that time where you're head has been a little bit hazy all day but now, it is here and you feel horrific. Any smell, you want to be sick. Mention of drink, you want to be sick. The thought of food, you want to be sick. You get the idea. The hangover usually lasts until the next morning also, which is always unfortunate!

I never know whether I prefer the delayed hangover or the all day one. You get more food on a normal hangover, and feel not too bad after the nap, that's the best bit. I suppose the best solution to avoid this is to not drink too much! Easiest way, haha!

What do you do to cope with your hangovers?

How did we live without...

So I had a thought today about how advanced everything is nowadays, technology, communication and the like. I find it so amazing how far we have come over the years, like when you watch older movies and they expect us to have lots of gadgets that we don't have (Back to the Future expected us to have Hoverboards) but there are certain bits and bobs that I wonder how we would deal without them!

- Telephones & text messages
Can you imagine having to get into contact with people only by post or face to face? Obviously we still do these things but imagine you found out some amazing gossip and you had to write it in a letter and post it to your best pal?! Or if there was a family emergency and you couldn't contact straight away? I suppose back in the day families tended to live quite close to each other but if no one invented the phone or text...can you IMAGINE?!

- Internet shopping
I know it's sort of a luxury and we are very lucky to have so much at our fingertips but can you remember back to when it wasn't such a big thing and you had to carry round loads of bags from the shops and try and find your size when there's so many people around. I mean, it's sad to think that high street shops are a dying breed but it is such a convenience with busy lives, which most of us have nowadays! The one thing that I hate about the high street dying out is I don't want the charity shops to die out, they are excellent for a bargain and a great cause!

- Google
Now, I'm a bit of a Google fiend, if someone asks a question and no one knows the answer, I am the first on Google to find it out! How would we find reviews for things we may want to buy? And how would we know all the useless facts we find out? The world is my oyster with Google. Try and go a day without using it, when you're at work or school, you will find it harder than you think!

Are there any things you can think of that you can't imagine being without?
